Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy screening, evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning for patients across inpatient, long term care, Alzheimer’s, home health, and outpatient settings
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that help patients regain independence and meet functional goals
- Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
- Supervise and mentor Occupational Therapy Assistants to ensure high-quality, consistent patient care
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation and progress notes in Cerner and Matrix
- Conduct admissions screenings and contribute to safe, appropriate patient placement
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Engage in continuing education and in-service activities to maintain clinical currency
Qualifications
- Current state license as an Occupational Therapist (Colorado license preferred or eligible)
- Registered/credentialed Occupational Therapist (OTR/OTD) or equivalent certification
- Experience across settings such as inpatient, long term care, Alzheimer’s care, home health, and outpatient care
- Experience supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants
- Proficiency with Cerner and Matrix EMR systems
- Strong clinical documentation skills and ability to perform admissions screening
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (OT/OTD preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Screening, evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge planning
- Skilled documentation and progress note management
- Interdisciplinary team collaboration and patient-family communication
- Supervision and mentorship of OTAs
- Infection control and safety standards
- Familiarity with Cerner and Matrix electronic medical records
