Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled therapeutic interventions under the direction of a supervising Physical Therapist
- Implement individualized treatment plans and document patient progress clearly and promptly
- Assist patients with gait training, transfers and therapeutic exercises to improve independence
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs and safety strategies to promote recovery
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
- Perform outcome measures, assist with discharge planning, and ensure continuity of care
- Maintain equipment, treatment areas and safety standards to support efficient therapy delivery
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current Montana PTA license or ability to obtain Montana licensure prior to start
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Previous clinical PTA experience preferred and highly valued
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients and families
- Ability to pass facility background checks and meet immunization requirements
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Completion of all program clinical requirements and eligibility for state licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of therapeutic exercises, modalities and basic manual techniques
- Proficiency in gait training, transfer techniques and assistive device training
- Familiarity with common documentation practices and electronic medical records
- Good clinical reasoning and ability to follow care plans while adapting to patient needs
- Excellent time management and organizational skills in a busy rehab setting
