Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Med/Surg nursing care for adult and pediatric patients with compassion and clinical excellence
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, and document progress clearly in the EHR
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following ACLS/BLS/PALS protocols when needed
• Collaborate closely with the hospitalist and interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Float to other departments as needed and deliver competent care across units
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to support recovery
• Respond promptly and effectively to clinical emergencies and escalate when appropriate
• Maintain strict infection control, safety standards, and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain Oregon RN licensure
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience — Med/Surg experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (must be valid)
• Comfortable working with both pediatric and adult patient populations
• Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt in a rural hospital setting
• Willingness to float to other departments where qualified
• Must pass background check and any required health screenings/immunizations

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med/Surg clinical skills and patient assessment abilities
• Experience with IV therapy, medication administration, and acute care interventions
• Competence in pediatric and adult nursing care best practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills when working with physicians and staff
• Solid documentation skills and comfort using electronic health records
• Critical thinking, prioritization, and time management in a fast-paced environment
