Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic echocardiography exams with care and precision, producing high-quality images for clinical decision making
• Conduct vascular ultrasound studies and hemodynamic assessments following established protocols
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure reliable performance
• Document exam findings accurately and communicate pertinent results to the care team
• Provide compassionate patient coaching and positioning to promote safety and comfort during exams
• Manage patient workflow independently and prioritize cases effectively in a variable schedule environment
• Adhere to infection control and safety practices while supporting a collaborative clinical environment

Qualifications

• RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) certification required
• Certification or formal training in echocardiography (cardiac sonography) preferred
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Proven ability to work independently and manage a variable schedule
• Strong communication skills to interact with patients and clinicians respectfully and clearly

Education

• Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or cardiovascular technology program preferred; certification-focused training acceptable

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of vascular and echocardiographic anatomy and imaging protocols
• Skill in ultrasound image acquisition and optimization
• Familiarity with patient positioning, Doppler techniques, and waveform analysis
• Comfortable using PACS/EMR systems to store and report images
• Ability to troubleshoot routine equipment issues and maintain quality assurance
• Professional bedside manner and ability to adapt to changing clinical demands
