Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic echocardiography exams with care and precision, producing high-quality images for clinical decision making
- Conduct vascular ultrasound studies and hemodynamic assessments following established protocols
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure reliable performance
- Document exam findings accurately and communicate pertinent results to the care team
- Provide compassionate patient coaching and positioning to promote safety and comfort during exams
- Manage patient workflow independently and prioritize cases effectively in a variable schedule environment
- Adhere to infection control and safety practices while supporting a collaborative clinical environment
Qualifications
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) certification required
- Certification or formal training in echocardiography (cardiac sonography) preferred
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Proven ability to work independently and manage a variable schedule
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients and clinicians respectfully and clearly
Education
- Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or cardiovascular technology program preferred; certification-focused training acceptable
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of vascular and echocardiographic anatomy and imaging protocols
- Skill in ultrasound image acquisition and optimization
- Familiarity with patient positioning, Doppler techniques, and waveform analysis
- Comfortable using PACS/EMR systems to store and report images
- Ability to troubleshoot routine equipment issues and maintain quality assurance
- Professional bedside manner and ability to adapt to changing clinical demands
