Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate veterans' functional strengths and limitations using evidence-based assessments
- Develop individualized, goal-directed treatment plans focused on independence and quality of life
- Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions, including ADL retraining, adaptive equipment training, and environmental modifications
- Collaborate with nursing, rehab team members, families, and case managers to coordinate care
- Document progress clearly and timely in the patient record and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Provide caregiver education and discharge planning to support sustained outcomes
- Monitor patient safety and maintain compliance with facility and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active or eligible Montana Occupational Therapy license (or ability to obtain promptly)
- NBCOT certification preferred or in progress
- Current CPR/BLS certification as required by the facility
- Experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is a strong plus
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and health requirements per facility policy
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor's, Master's, or OTD) from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL assessment and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Knowledge of geriatrics, long-term care rehabilitation, and restorative programs
- Proficient clinical documentation and outcome measurement
- Familiarity with safe patient handling and fall prevention strategies
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
