Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate veterans' functional strengths and limitations using evidence-based assessments
• Develop individualized, goal-directed treatment plans focused on independence and quality of life
• Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions, including ADL retraining, adaptive equipment training, and environmental modifications
• Collaborate with nursing, rehab team members, families, and case managers to coordinate care
• Document progress clearly and timely in the patient record and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Provide caregiver education and discharge planning to support sustained outcomes
• Monitor patient safety and maintain compliance with facility and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Active or eligible Montana Occupational Therapy license (or ability to obtain promptly)
• NBCOT certification preferred or in progress
• Current CPR/BLS certification as required by the facility
• Experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is a strong plus
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and health requirements per facility policy
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor's, Master's, or OTD) from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL assessment and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Knowledge of geriatrics, long-term care rehabilitation, and restorative programs
• Proficient clinical documentation and outcome measurement
• Familiarity with safe patient handling and fall prevention strategies
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
