Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the CVOR for open-heart and robotic-assisted cases
• Prepare and manage the operating room environment to maintain sterile technique and patient safety
• Assist with DaVinci robotic procedures and ensure proper setup, instrumentation, and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the multidisciplinary team for seamless patient care
• Respond promptly and professionally to CVOR call activations and intraoperative emergencies
• Float to General OR when no open-heart cases are scheduled, maintaining adaptable clinical coverage
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record and support continuity of care during handoffs

Qualifications

• Current CVOR (open-heart) surgical experience — at least 2 years required (submissions without clear current CVOR experience will be closed)
• Hands-on experience with DaVinci robotic-assisted surgery
• Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or eligible for Ohio licensure
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and weekend/holiday coverage
• Able to float to General OR as needed and maintain flexibility with minimal RTO

Education

• Active RN license in Ohio
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing knowledge specific to open-heart and cardiac vascular operating room procedures
• Proficiency with robotic surgical systems (DaVinci) and associated instrumentation
• Skilled in sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and intraoperative patient monitoring
• Ability to manage complex intraoperative situations and prioritize patient safety
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity surgical settings
• Familiarity with OR documentation, patient handoffs, and call response protocols
