Shift Type: Monday-Friday, variable shifts between 6:45 AM - 11:15 PM (day/evening coverage); scheduled 40 hours/week (may be 32 hrs during holidays); rotating call coverage 24/7 with average 1-2 call assignments per week and up to 2 weekends per month; day-shift orientation for up to 1 week

Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate surgical cases independently across general, ortho, vascular, ophthalmic, urology, ENT, endoscopy, robotic, OB and GYN procedures
• Lead turnover cleaning and prepare rooms quickly and safely to keep the OR running
• Transport patients when needed and ensure safe handoffs to surgical teams
• Coordinate and schedule cases to optimize OR flow and patient experience
• Operate unit systems such as Meditech and PYXIS to document care and manage supplies
• Participate in 24/7 call coverage and respond within a 30-minute radius when called back
• Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia and perioperative staff to deliver excellent patient care

Qualifications

• Active State of Hawaii RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of perioperative OR circulating experience in a hospital setting
• Ability to scrub cases is preferred
• Experience with Meditech and PYXIS preferred
• Comfortable with call coverage, variable shifts and up to two weekends per month
• Must be able to respond to call-back within a 30-minute radius of the hospital

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing and OR circulating best practices
• Case scheduling and OR flow optimization
• Turnover cleaning protocols and patient transport procedures
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic health record
• Experience using PYXIS for medication and supply management
• Scrub skills and exposure to robotic and endoscopy procedures (preferred)
• Strong communication, teamwork and critical thinking in fast-paced OR settings
