Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality obstetric care including prenatal visits, intrapartum management, and postpartum follow-up
• Perform and interpret OB ultrasounds and fetal monitoring (NST/CST/FSE) to guide timely clinical decisions
• Manage routine and complicated deliveries including vaginal deliveries, forceps/assisted deliveries, and cesarean sections
• Perform gynecologic surgical procedures within the privileging scope, including D&C, hysterectomy, and other indicated surgeries
• Repair third and fourth degree lacerations with attention to functional outcomes
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to support continuity of care and compliance
• Participate in shared call rotation and respond to clinic and hospital needs during on-call shifts
• Collaborate with nursing and ancillary staff to provide patient-focused, team-based care

Qualifications

• Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Completed OB/GYN residency training (MD or DO)
• Ability to obtain a New Mexico medical license prior to or shortly after start
• Current case logs demonstrating required recent experience: at least 50 vaginal deliveries and 20 C-sections in the past 12 months, plus at least 25 gynecologic surgical procedures (including at least 5 major abdominal cases)
• Proficiency with EPIC or similar EMR
• Willingness and ability to participate in on-call coverage including nights and weekends
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to complete an offsite drug screen within required timeframe

Education

• MD or DO with completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Knowledge & Skills

• Fetal heart rate interpretation (NST, CST, FSE)
• OB ultrasound performance and interpretation (Level I screening and Level II targeted anatomy)
• Skilled in vaginal and cesarean deliveries and emergency obstetric decision-making
• Experience with laparoscopic diagnostic/minor gynecologic procedures and operative gynecology
• Ability to manage low and occasional high-risk obstetric patients
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-centered care approach
• Comfortable with documentation and workflows in EPIC
