Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered occupational therapy evaluations and treatment plans that restore function and independence
- Deliver skilled therapy interventions for residents in a skilled nursing setting, focusing on ADLs, mobility, and therapeutic activities
- Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and progress toward discharge goals
- Document clinical findings, progress notes, and plan of care timely and accurately
- Educate residents and families on strategies, adaptive equipment, and home safety to support long-term outcomes
- Participate in team meetings, care planning, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident care
Qualifications
- Current Montana Occupational Therapy license or ability to obtain promptly
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (OTR or COTA where applicable)
- Active NBCOT certification preferred
- Clinical experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehabilitation settings preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Education
- Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy (required)
- Graduation from an accredited OT program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment skills for ADLs, transfers, and functional mobility
- Experience with adaptive equipment recommendations and home safety evaluations
- Proficiency in documentation systems and timely charting
- Ability to create measurable, person-centered goals and progress toward them
- Comfort working in an interdisciplinary team and mentoring support staff
