Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered occupational therapy evaluations and treatment plans that restore function and independence
• Deliver skilled therapy interventions for residents in a skilled nursing setting, focusing on ADLs, mobility, and therapeutic activities
• Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and progress toward discharge goals
• Document clinical findings, progress notes, and plan of care timely and accurately
• Educate residents and families on strategies, adaptive equipment, and home safety to support long-term outcomes
• Participate in team meetings, care planning, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident care

Qualifications

• Current Montana Occupational Therapy license or ability to obtain promptly
• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (OTR or COTA where applicable)
• Active NBCOT certification preferred
• Clinical experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehabilitation settings preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

• Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy (required)
• Graduation from an accredited OT program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for ADLs, transfers, and functional mobility
• Experience with adaptive equipment recommendations and home safety evaluations
• Proficiency in documentation systems and timely charting
• Ability to create measurable, person-centered goals and progress toward them
• Comfort working in an interdisciplinary team and mentoring support staff
