Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a high-volume ER setting
• Stabilize and manage trauma and critically ill patients alongside ED physicians and mid-levels
• Perform rapid patient assessments — cardiac, stroke, sepsis, respiratory distress and more
• Administer medications, treatments and advanced life support per ACLS/BLS/PALS/TNCC protocols
• Collaborate with RTs, ED techs, transport and inpatient teams to coordinate patient flow and holds
• Document all care and interventions clearly and timely in Epic
• Participate in resuscitation teams and critical procedures when needed
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during stressful events

Qualifications

• Active RN license — Washington or Compact licensure accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS; TNCC and PALS or ENPC; NIHSS per unit requirements
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (listing states 2 years); will consider candidates with 1 year in a larger trauma setting
• Comfort and competency working in an ER/Trauma Center with high patient volume
• Ability to work night shifts, every-other-weekend rotation, and required holiday coverage

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma — BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong trauma and emergency nursing skills including triage and patient assessment
• Experience with Epic charting and electronic documentation
• Familiarity with respiratory support equipment (Vents, CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow) and ABG interpretation
• EKG recognition and basic rhythm strip interpretation; collaboration with monitor techs
• Ability to manage ED holds and coordinate inpatient placement
• Comfort caring for diverse presentations: cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, AMS, respiratory, mental health
