Shift Type: Day shifts (rotating): Option 1 — 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (36 hours/week); Option 2 — four 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, with a rotating on-call schedule that includes weekend and weekday call and possible holiday call

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care for general OR patients with compassion and clinical precision
• Prepare the operating room, maintain the sterile field, and ensure proper instrument and sponge counts
• Anticipate surgeon needs during cases and assist efficiently in general, robotic, neuro, and ortho procedures
• Monitor patient status intraoperatively and collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams for safe outcomes
• Document care accurately in Epic EMR and communicate handoffs clearly to the interdisciplinary team
• Participate in rotating on-call coverage, adjusting to weekend and holiday needs as required
• Contribute to a culture of safety by following protocols, reporting concerns, and mentoring newer staff

Qualifications

• Active BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 3 years of current/recent OR experience (required)
• Experience with robotic, neuro, and ortho cases strongly recommended
• Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred
• Current RN license in Ohio or eligibility for Ohio licensure (recommend verifying compact status if applicable)
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Or equivalent nursing education with active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Intraoperative patient monitoring and safety protocols
• Familiarity assisting in robotic, neuro, and orthopedic procedures
• Epic EMR documentation and electronic charting
• Ability to manage call rotations and adapt to variable census/staffing
• Excellent communication and collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia, and support staff
