Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist with implementing individualized treatment plans that help patients regain independence
- Provide therapeutic interventions focused on functional improvement and meaningful outcomes
- Accurately document treatments in accordance with facility and regulatory standards to ensure excellent continuity of care
- Communicate effectively with the OT, rehab team, nursing staff, and patient families to coordinate care
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and facility guidelines to protect patients and the team
- Promote a positive, patient-focused environment that supports healing and dignity
Qualifications
- Licensed COTA in the state of California (required)
- SNF experience preferred; new graduates are welcome for contract roles
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across disciplines
- Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering quality patient care
Education
- Current COTA license in California
- Completion of an accredited COTA/OTA program (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on knowledge of occupational therapy interventions in a skilled nursing/rehab setting
- Skilled documentation practices that meet regulatory and facility standards
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong patient rapport, safety awareness, and clinical reasoning
- Time management and adaptability in a fast-paced SNF environment
