Roles & Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms for assigned patients using telemetry systems
- Identify, interpret, and accurately document arrhythmias, rhythm changes, and significant cardiac events
- Recognize life-threatening dysrhythmias and immediately notify nursing staff and providers
- Maintain real-time communication with RNs and clinical teams about cardiac changes
- Document rhythm strips at required intervals and during any abnormal events
- Escalate abnormal findings promptly and follow hospital protocols to support patient safety
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with cardiac monitoring and telemetry preferred
- Strong ability to identify and interpret ECG rhythms and arrhythmias
- Excellent communication and documentation skills to coordinate with clinical teams
- Comfortable operating telemetry equipment and troubleshooting basic issues
- Ability to act quickly and calmly in urgent situations to notify providers
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of telemetry/ECG training or relevant coursework preferred
