Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM Day; On-call: 1 weekend/month and 1-2 nights/week; Weekend coverage required; May float to similar units (block schedule based on manager approval)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms and sterilize instruments, ensuring every case has the right tools
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams throughout general, ortho, neuro spine, vascular and specialty procedures
• Manage case carts, coordinate instrument sets and support robotic (Da Vinci Xi) procedures when needed
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure proper endoscope reprocessing and sterilization
• Document care in Epic accurately and in a timely manner to support patient safety and continuity
• Support unit needs by floating to similar areas and covering required weekend or on-call shifts

Qualifications

• CST or NCCT certification required
• Valid California license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR/Surgical Tech experience (first-time travelers accepted if criteria met)
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Comfortable charting in Epic and able to float to similar units when requested

Education

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred
• High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong familiarity with Vascular, GYN, Plastics, Neuro Spine, Ortho and General Surgery case types
• Experience with Cardiovascular, ENT, Thoracic, Endoscopy and robotic (Da Vinci Xi) procedures
• Instrument processing, sterilization, aseptic technique and case cart management
• Endoscope reprocessing knowledge and attention to infection control
• Ability to work in a high-volume environment (~30 cases/day) and prioritize effectively
