Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts (typically 3 shifts/week), 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM; every 3rd weekend; rotating holidays
Hours per Week: 63
Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care for medical/surgical and post-op cancer patients (prostatectomy, mastectomy, etc.)
- Assess, monitor and document patient status accurately and promptly using central monitoring and bedside assessments
- Safely titrate drips and manage IV therapies including heparin, lidocaine and TPN gtts as ordered
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and communicate clearly with patients and families to support recovery
- Manage sitter needs and coordinate with RT/monitor techs when required to maintain patient safety
- Serve as charge nurse or house supervisor when needed, supporting staff, workflow and unit efficiency
- Maintain timeliness in all tasks and ensure documentation meets unit standards and regulatory expectations
Qualifications
- Active RN license (must be in good standing)
- BLS certification (required at time of hire)
- Experience in medical/surgical and ortho nursing; experience with post-op cancer interventions preferred
- Comfortable titrating drips (heparin, lidocaine, TPN gtt) and recognizing changes on central monitoring
- Familiarity with ventilator/CPAP/BiPAP equipment and basic respiratory support
- Strong communication, accurate documentation, timeliness and a patient-centered approach
- Driver's license required at submittal (used to verify radius eligibility)
- Willingness to complete a pass/fail competency exam during orientation (open book; 90% required)
- Not eligible if currently FT/PT/PRN with any CommonSpirit facility (including CHI or Dignity) and must reside outside a 50-mile radius per radius rule

- Charge nurse/house supervisor duties and leadership skills
