Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver rapid, evidence-based emergency nursing care for a high-turnover ED
- Perform timely patient triage and prioritize care in a 28-bed emergency department
- Monitor cardiac patients closely in cardiac-monitor rooms and respond to changes
- Provide trauma support in designated trauma bays and collaborate with the trauma team
- Manage behavioral health patients safely in dedicated behavioral health rooms
- Administer medications and assist with procedural sedation when credentialed
- Maintain accurate documentation, handoffs, and communication with the multidisciplinary team
- Keep certifications current and participate in unit-driven quality and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — State of Hawaii RN license required by assignment start
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Emergency nursing experience and comfort in fast-paced, high-acuity settings preferred
- Procedural Sedation, TMCC, and EMPC certifications are preferred but not required
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and support rapid patient turnover

- Trauma care and trauma bay workflows
- Cardiac monitoring and rhythm recognition
- Behavioral health patient management in the ED
- Patient triage and rapid assessment skills
- Strong clinical judgment under pressure
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients and team members
