Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
- Rapidly assess, triage and stabilize patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
- Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments accurately and safely
- Collaborate closely with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record and communicate critical updates
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement, safety initiatives and code responses
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans and discharge instructions
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience (per job posting)
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification strongly preferred or required by facility
- Current TB screening and up-to-date immunizations as per facility policy
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen and credentialing in a timely manner
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong triage and rapid assessment skills in a high-acuity environment
- Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate documentation
- Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking and prioritization under pressure
- Skilled in IV starts, medication administration and cardiac/telemetry monitoring
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families and the care team
- Team-oriented mindset and adaptability to changing patient volumes
