Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality perioperative and postoperative nursing care for cardiovascular surgery patients
- Assess patients, monitor vitals and hemodynamics, and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document all care in the electronic health record
- Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations and discharge plans
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience (cardiovascular surgery, cardiac ICU, or progressive care preferred)
- BLS required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
- Current certifications as required by facility and specialty practice
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on knowledge of cardiovascular surgical patient care and postop monitoring
- Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring and telemetry
- Skilled in medication administration, wound care and central line management
- Comfortable using electronic health record systems for documentation
- Excellent communication, teamwork and patient education abilities
