Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate post-op cardiac and CVICU nursing care to complex patients
• Monitor hemodynamics, manage vasoactive drips, and respond to changes with confidence
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, intensivists, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team
• Perform thorough assessments and maintain accurate, timely patient documentation
• Operate and troubleshoot advanced ICU equipment and life-support devices
• Educate patients and families about recovery plans and cardiac care best practices
• Actively participate in safety initiatives and quality improvement efforts on the unit

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) — CVICU specialty noted
• Minimum 1 year of relevant CVICU nursing experience (as stated in the job posting)
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Strong clinical judgment, effective teamwork, and clear communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Post-operative cardiac care and hemodynamic monitoring
• Familiarity with advanced cardiac life support concepts and ICU workflows
• Ventilator and invasive line management experience
• Telemetry interpretation and effective critical thinking under pressure
• Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-acuity patients
