Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients, ensuring safety and dignity
• Monitor and interpret complex hemodynamic and ventilator data to guide timely interventions
• Perform and assist with critical procedures such as intubation, central line and A-line management, and EVD care
• Document care accurately and efficiently using Meditech EMR to ensure continuity and clarity
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate and support patients and families during high-stress situations with empathy and clear communication
• Adhere to unit guidelines, infection control standards and hospital policies to maintain a safe environment
• Float to other ICUs, BMT and PCU floors as needed to support patient care and staffing demands

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice or ability to obtain state licensure promptly
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience (NVICU or similar critical care experience preferred)
• Current ACLS certification is required
• Experience with critical care procedures including intubation, central line and A-line management, and EVD care
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR is preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a reliable team player

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and advanced patient assessment
• Mechanical ventilation basics and ventilator monitoring
• Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Airway management and intubation support
• Central line, arterial line and EVD care
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR or similar electronic charting systems
• Clear communication, teamwork and bedside teaching skills
