Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify medications and ensure accurate medication dispensing to protect patient safety
• Perform vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing with clinical precision
• Compound sterile IV preparations and use Dose Edge for verification to maintain sterile standards
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and oversee Pyxis and Pak Edge workflows to keep operations smooth
• Conduct medication reconciliation and first-dose checks, including emergency med box management
• Collaborate with clinical teams on pain consults and therapeutic recommendations
• Document interventions and use Meditech EMR effectively to support continuity of care
• Champion safe medication practices and contribute to continuous quality improvement

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD or equivalent) — required
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO) — required
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience (inpatient experience preferred)
• ACLS and BLS certifications preferred
• NICU experience is a plus for candidates with neonatal exposure
• Experience with Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech EMR highly desirable
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Inpatient pharmacy workflows and medication verification best practices
• Vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing protocols
• Sterile IV compounding techniques and verification tools (Dose Edge)
• Medication storage and dispensing systems (Pyxis, Pak Edge)
• Meditech EMR use for documentation and order management
• Supervising and mentoring pharmacy technicians
• Ability to handle first doses, emergency med boxes, and medication safety events
