Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a high-volume Emergency Department
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based emergency nursing care for trauma and stroke patients
• Administer medications, manage Baxter pumps, and monitor patients using GE monitors
• Document patient care thoroughly and efficiently in Cerner
• Coach and mentor peers in real time, providing constructive feedback to strengthen the team
• Communicate clearly with patients and families, following AIDET and patient experience best practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, timely disposition of patients

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state appropriate) and current BLS required before start
• ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS certifications required before start or per hiring guidelines
• ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
• Strong teamwork mindset and ability to coach and give feedback in real time
• Willingness to float to all sections within the ED

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient documentation in Cerner
• Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and GE cardiac monitors
• Experience with trauma and stroke protocols and high-acuity assessments
• Comfort working in high-volume, fast-paced ED environments
• Excellent communication skills and patient-focused bedside manner
• Ability to maintain patient experience standards (AIDET) and update boards throughout visits
