Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care for a high-volume ED, using strong assessment and clinical judgment
• Monitor and manage cardiac rhythms and acute interventions using cardiac monitors and advanced equipment
• Respond effectively to trauma and stroke activations, providing time-sensitive, evidence-based care
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in Cerner to ensure continuity and safety
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain safe patient ratios and a positive patient experience
• Coach and mentor colleagues in real time, offering constructive feedback to support continual improvement
• Adhere to unit protocols (AIDET, patient updates, boarding processes) and maintain professional dress code (navy scrubs)

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
• Experience in Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center environments preferred
• Comfortable working in a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) — previous HCA experience preferred
• Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS; ENPC to be obtained within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork mindset and the ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
• Ability to float within all ED sections (not outside the ED) and adapt to variable patient ratios

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner documentation and electronic charting workflows
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring equipment
• Solid knowledge of trauma protocols, stroke assessment (NIHSS) and emergency procedures
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, patient experience focus (AIDET), and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with ED staffing models and ability to work every other weekend as scheduled
