Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating nights (includes weekends), 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (Night shift). Schedule varies; staff required to work 6 weekend days per schedule. Rare on-call.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based oncology nursing care to patients on the Oncology/Women’s Surgical unit
- Administer treatments and medications safely and accurately, following unit protocols and chemosafety practices when certified
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress clearly in Cerner EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, HUCs and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes
- Maintain appropriate patient ratios (typically 1:4 or 1:5) and prioritize patient safety
- Perform unit procedures as needed (occasional pelvic exams, echo support, thoracentesis observation) and follow unit policies
- Participate in occasional floating to other med-surg areas when needed, while supporting team continuity
Qualifications
- Active RN license required (current or eligible in state of practice)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (oncology or med-surgical experience strongly preferred)
- BLS certification required
- Chemo certification preferred (candidates with chemo training considered first)
- Experience with Cerner EMR a plus
- Strong teamwork, communication skills, and willingness to learn
Education
- Active RN license required; ADN/BSN-level education preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Oncology nursing fundamentals and med-surgical care
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR documentation and workflows
- Safe medication administration and chemosafety best practices (if certified)
- Ability to manage patient assignments at 1:4 or 1:5 ratios
- Comfort with occasional procedures and post-procedure monitoring
- Good clinical judgment, prioritization and patient-centered communication
