Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and prioritize care for a busy PCU population
• Deliver safe medication administration and IV therapy, including IV starts
• Monitor telemetry and interpret EKG data to detect changes early
• Perform wound care and maintenance of surgical drains and chest tubes
• Provide tube care including nasogastric feeding and feeding pump management
• Document care accurately in Meditech and participate in bedside shift report
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient-centered plans
• Provide compassionate patient and family education and support at the bedside

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required) and ACLS (required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; Med/Surg and PCU experience preferred
• Proven skills in IV insertion, basic wound care, and telemetry monitoring
• Comfortable with 12-hour night shifts and rotating weekend schedules
• Strong prioritization, multitasking, and documentation skills (Meditech experience a plus)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical decision making in progressive care
• Telemetry monitoring and basic EKG interpretation
• Medication administration and IV pump management
• Feeding pumps, PCA pumps, bladder scanner operation, and related equipment
• Maintenance and care of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Clear, compassionate bedside communication and bedside shift reporting
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation and iMobile communication tools
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
