Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and rapidly assess patients arriving to the emergency department to prioritize care
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care including medication administration and emergency interventions
• Respond to trauma and code situations, assisting with procedures and stabilizing patients
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate patient flow and treatment plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Meditech and follow unit policies and attendance guidelines
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during high-stress moments
• Support a culture of safety, compliance, and professionalism including adhering to dress and grooming policies

Qualifications

• Active RN license required (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 2 years of Emergency Department specialty experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications required
• NIH required (per unit request)
• Meditech experience preferred
• Ability to work rotating night shifts and every-other-weekend coverage; on-call participation required

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in emergency triage, trauma assessment, and rapid clinical decision-making
• Proficiency with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems
• Comfortable with emergency procedures, IV/med administration, and monitoring critically ill patients
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient/family education skills
• Ability to handle high-acuity, fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
• Familiarity with unit policies, attendance expectations, and professional appearance standards
