Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for orthopedic surgery and inpatient med/tele patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms as required by the unit
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech and maintain thorough clinical records
• Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely, including specialty therapies when certified
• Respond promptly to urgent situations using BLS/ACLS protocols and clinical judgment
• Float between inpatient Med/Tele and Rehab units as needed to support patient flow and staffing

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS required and ACLS required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (per job posting)
• Strong Telemetry experience preferred — 2 years preferred
• Chemo certification is a nice-to-have (opens opportunities to float to Oncology)
• Comfortable floating to different inpatient units and working as part of a team
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR systems preferred

Education

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Meditech EMR documentation and electronic charting
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Post-operative orthopedic nursing care and assessment
• Medication administration and IV management
• Strong communication, delegation, and teamwork skills
• Critical thinking and rapid decision-making in acute care settings
• Familiarity with unit policies, patient ratios, and infection control practices
