Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse, high-volume patient population
• Perform rapid triage and focused assessments to prioritize care in a busy ED
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes using current ACLS protocols
• Administer and manage medications and IV therapy using Baxter pumps and appropriate monitoring
• Document thoroughly and accurately using Cerner to ensure safe handoffs and continuity of care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, unit clerks, and support staff to optimize patient flow
• Coach peers and deliver real-time feedback to support team performance and patient safety
• Apply AIDET and strong patient communication to maintain excellent patient experience throughout visits

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or a high-volume ED preferred
• Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and open to floating within ED sections

Education

• Completion of an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN) required as basis for RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage skills and emergency assessment techniques
• Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation experience
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic documentation
• Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring systems
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient experience (AIDET) skills
• Ability to coach colleagues and provide constructive, real-time feedback
• Experience managing high patient ratios and behavioral hold situations
