Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum and the Baby Unit
- Monitor maternal and newborn status and intervene promptly when changes occur
- Support safe deliveries and assist with newborn transition to extrauterine life
- Care for postpartum patients including education, assessment and discharge planning
- Float to other units as needed and assist with Progressive Care Unit overflow
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives and multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent patient-centered care
- Document assessments, interventions and patient education accurately and timely
- Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to a culture of safety
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required; must be eligible to practice in Vermont
- Experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn/Baby Unit care
- Comfort and experience working night shift/NOC
- Ability and willingness to float to other units and support Progressive Care overflow
- Strong assessment, communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical knowledge of maternal and newborn care and postpartum recovery
- Comfort managing routine L&D procedures and newborn assessments
- Skill in patient and family education and discharge planning
- Ability to assess acuity changes and escalate appropriately
- Team-oriented approach and adaptability across unit settings
