Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessments, medications, and treatments
- Administer medications safely and document accurately
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and clinical changes
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and the care team to create and follow care plans
- Perform admissions, discharges and handoffs with clear communication
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Promote patient safety, infection control, and a healing environment
Qualifications
- Current LPN or RN license in good standing (New Mexico licensure or compact privilege as applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications a plus
- Current immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
- Clinical experience in acute care or rehab preferred; recent bedside experience valued
- Ability to pass background checks and any required onboarding screenings
- Professional, compassionate communication and teamwork skills
Education
- LPN: Vocational/Practical Nursing diploma or equivalent
- RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma (BSN welcomed if held)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate charting
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, overnight environment
- Skilled at patient/family education and clear clinical communication
- Familiarity with infection control and patient safety best practices
- Basic wound care, IV therapy knowledge (as applicable), and post-op care awareness
