Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, medications, and treatments
• Administer medications safely and document accurately
• Monitor and record patient vital signs and clinical changes
• Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and the care team to create and follow care plans
• Perform admissions, discharges and handoffs with clear communication
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Promote patient safety, infection control, and a healing environment

Qualifications

• Current LPN or RN license in good standing (New Mexico licensure or compact privilege as applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications a plus
• Current immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Clinical experience in acute care or rehab preferred; recent bedside experience valued
• Ability to pass background checks and any required onboarding screenings
• Professional, compassionate communication and teamwork skills

Education

• LPN: Vocational/Practical Nursing diploma or equivalent
• RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma (BSN welcomed if held)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, overnight environment
• Skilled at patient/family education and clear clinical communication
• Familiarity with infection control and patient safety best practices
• Basic wound care, IV therapy knowledge (as applicable), and post-op care awareness
