Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered personal care to geriatric patients
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Monitor and document resident condition, vital signs, and changes in behavior
• Follow care plans and communicate updates clearly to nursing staff and families
• Support mobility and fall-prevention strategies to keep residents safe
• Create a warm, respectful environment that promotes dignity and independence
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to a collaborative care approach

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or state-recognized nursing assistant certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or must be obtainable upon hire
• Comfortable working with elderly populations and assisting with ADLs
• Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility credentialing requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and respectful care practices
• Skill in assisting with ADLs and safe resident transfers
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Good observational skills and ability to report changes promptly
• Customer-service mindset when interacting with residents and families
