Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Assist nursing team with vital signs, toileting, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Observe, document and report changes in resident condition promptly and accurately
• Support safe transfers and use of assistive devices to protect residents and staff
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful communication
• Participate in team huddles and follow care plans to deliver consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
• State CNA registry active (Maine preferred or ability to transfer/reciprocity)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association preferred or willing to obtain
• Reliable work history and ability to pass background and health screenings
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing principles and infection control practices
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and safe resident handling
• Strong observation and documentation skills
• Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nursing staff
• Good time management and a calm, patient-centered approach
