Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility with respect and dignity
• Monitor and document vital signs and resident conditions accurately to support clinical decision-making
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care that promotes independence and comfort
• Collaborate with the nursing team to communicate changes in condition and ensure continuity of care
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols
• Support mealtime assistance and nutritional needs, honoring dietary requirements and preferences
• Help create a welcoming atmosphere that supports residents’ emotional and social well-being

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — Maine certification preferred or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Comfort with physical demands of the role, including safe resident transfers and mobility assistance
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ADLs, safe transfer techniques, and basic clinical observations
• Familiarity with infection control practices and personal protective equipment
• Comfortable with charting and basic documentation
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
