Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility with respect and dignity
- Monitor and document vital signs and resident conditions accurately to support clinical decision-making
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care that promotes independence and comfort
- Collaborate with the nursing team to communicate changes in condition and ensure continuity of care
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols
- Support mealtime assistance and nutritional needs, honoring dietary requirements and preferences
- Help create a welcoming atmosphere that supports residents’ emotional and social well-being
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — Maine certification preferred or ability to obtain prior to start
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Comfort with physical demands of the role, including safe resident transfers and mobility assistance
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs, safe transfer techniques, and basic clinical observations
- Familiarity with infection control practices and personal protective equipment
- Comfortable with charting and basic documentation
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
