Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition regularly and respond to changes with clinical judgment
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and follow individualized care plans
• Document patient care and progress clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Advocate for patient needs and ensure dignity and respect in all interactions
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives on the unit
• Support new staff and travelers by sharing unit-specific knowledge and best practices

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (RN) — ability to obtain Maine licensure or hold a compact license where applicable
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred where applicable
• Clinical experience in a relevant setting is preferred; new grads with strong clinical rotations considered
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical assessment and monitoring skills
• Medication administration and safe IV skills
• Patient-centered care and strong bedside manner
• Effective documentation in electronic medical records
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary teams
