Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to residents at Sandy River Center
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
• Assess patient conditions, document findings, and communicate changes promptly
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update individualized care plans
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers with clear, patient-centered communication
• Educate residents and families about care plans, medications, and safety practices
• Maintain professional standards, follow facility policies, and contribute to a positive workplace culture

Qualifications

• Valid LPN or RN license for the state of Maine (required)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or willingness to obtain
• Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and solid medication administration experience
• Reliable, team-oriented, and patient-focused with excellent communication skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program or nursing program (ADN/BSN for RNs as applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of nursing fundamentals and medication administration best practices
• Skilled in documentation and charting with attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative long-term care environment
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during 12+ hour shifts
• Good interpersonal skills for communicating with residents, families, and staff
