Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to residents at Sandy River Center
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
- Assess patient conditions, document findings, and communicate changes promptly
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update individualized care plans
- Support admissions, discharges, and transfers with clear, patient-centered communication
- Educate residents and families about care plans, medications, and safety practices
- Maintain professional standards, follow facility policies, and contribute to a positive workplace culture
Qualifications
- Valid LPN or RN license for the state of Maine (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or willingness to obtain
- Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
- Strong clinical assessment skills and solid medication administration experience
- Reliable, team-oriented, and patient-focused with excellent communication skills
Education
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program or nursing program (ADN/BSN for RNs as applicable)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of nursing fundamentals and medication administration best practices
- Skilled in documentation and charting with attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative long-term care environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during 12+ hour shifts
- Good interpersonal skills for communicating with residents, families, and staff
