Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Support residents with bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility safely and respectfully
- Monitor resident condition and report any changes to nursing leadership promptly
- Assist with safe transfers and use of mobility aids to prevent injury
- Document care accurately and timely to support continuity and quality of care
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to promote resident comfort and dignity
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- Active or eligible to obtain CNA certification in Maine
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings
- Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented with good communication skills
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of ADLs and basic resident care
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Accurate documentation and charting skills
- Infection control and proper PPE use
- Clear communication and teamwork with nursing staff and families
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
