Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents by assisting with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Help with safe transfers and mobility assistance while following proper body mechanics
- Document care and observations clearly and promptly in resident charts
- Support infection prevention practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Communicate effectively with nurses, residents, and families to promote excellent care
- Contribute to a positive team culture by being reliable, kind, and professional
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state-certified Nursing Assistant) — required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfort with resident lifting and transfers and following safety protocols
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred; new CNAs welcome
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic nursing procedures and resident care routines
- Skill in safe transfer techniques and mobility assistance
- Familiarity with charting and basic clinical documentation
- Knowledge of infection control standards and resident safety practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond calmly in urgent situations
