Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident observations accurately and promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Assist with meals and hydration, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are respected
- Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection control protocols
- Communicate changes in resident condition clearly to nurses and care team members
- Document care provided in the medical record with attention to detail and accuracy
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support personalized care plans
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (State of Maine) or eligible to practice in Maine
- Comfortable providing hands-on resident care and working in a long-term care setting
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented attitude
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completed accredited CNA program and current state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
- Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling
- Good documentation practices and attention to detail
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
