Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident observations accurately and promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Assist with meals and hydration, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are respected
• Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection control protocols
• Communicate changes in resident condition clearly to nurses and care team members
• Document care provided in the medical record with attention to detail and accuracy
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support personalized care plans

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (State of Maine) or eligible to practice in Maine
• Comfortable providing hands-on resident care and working in a long-term care setting
• Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
• Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented attitude
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed accredited CNA program and current state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
• Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
