Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults and elders during the night shift
• Administer medications safely and document treatments according to facility policy
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor for changes in condition
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and follow effective care plans
• Accurately document interventions, vital signs, and patient responses in the medical record
• Respond promptly to patient needs, alarms, and emergencies while maintaining a calm presence
• Support admission, transfer, and discharge processes to ensure smooth transitions of care

Qualifications

• Current and active LPN or RN license (must be able to practice in North Carolina or hold compact privileges as applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or PALS as relevant to unit preferred
• Previous clinical nursing experience preferred; new grads may be considered depending on facility requirements
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility credentialing requirements
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on night shift

Education

• LPN: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
• RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and monitoring skills with strong attention to detail
• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Wound care, ADL assistance, and basic nursing procedures
• Comfort with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during busy night shifts
• Teamwork, reliability, and a patient-first mindset
