Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
- Support meal service and feeding assistance as needed while monitoring intake
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of resident care and observations
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to follow care plans and improve outcomes
- Promote a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through thoughtful communication
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state-appropriate) required
- Minimum competency in basic patient care and ADLs; prior long-term care or facility experience preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Reliable, prompt, and able to work the assigned evening shift
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited CNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care principles and resident rights
- Comfortable with resident transfers and mobility assistance
- Strong observational skills to notice changes in condition
- Good documentation and charting practices
- Infection control, hand hygiene, and safety procedures
- Ability to work collaboratively with nurses and support staff
