Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based individual and group mental health treatment to incarcerated patients
- Conduct clinical assessments, risk evaluations, and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Document encounters clearly and timely in the facility’s health records system
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and safety plans
- Deliver crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed in the correctional setting
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain compliance and best practices
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Psychologist license (or LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) in good standing
- Experience or comfort working in behavioral health settings; correctional experience is a plus
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
- Ability to pass facility-required background checks and clearances
- Availability to work weekends and complete a two-week orientation prior to assignment
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology for Psychologist roles; Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage & Family Therapy for LCSW/LMFT/LPCC candidates
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in conducting mental health assessments and evidence-based interventions
- Familiarity with risk assessment, crisis intervention, and safety planning
- Excellent clinical documentation and time-management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
- Understanding of confidentiality, ethical practice, and correctional healthcare protocols
- Comfort with structured environments and following facility policies
