Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients in a correctional setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote mental wellness and safety
- Deliver individual and group therapy focused on trauma-informed, cognitive-behavioral, and rehabilitation approaches
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and support continuity of services
- Conduct risk assessments and crisis interventions when immediate clinical decisions are required
- Maintain thorough, timely clinical documentation in electronic health records and ensure compliance with facility policies
- Participate in case reviews and contribute clinical insights that improve patient outcomes and program quality
Qualifications
- Licensed Psychologist in good standing (PSY) or equivalent state clinical license such as LCSW, LMFT, LPCC
- Experience or comfort working in a correctional or forensic mental health environment is highly desirable
- Strong clinical assessment and therapy skills with adults and diverse populations
- Current CPR/First Aid per facility requirements and ability to pass background/security clearance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in evidence-based modalities (CBT, trauma-informed care, etc.)
- Risk assessment and crisis management skills
- Ability to write clear, concise clinical documentation
- Familiarity with behavioral health regulations and confidentiality in correctional settings
- Cultural competence and sensitivity working with diverse patient populations
- Comfort using electronic health record systems and basic office technology
