Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake and accurately record vitals and medical histories
- Prepare patients and assist clinical staff during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and injections as directed and document care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
- Support infection control and safety practices in a secure facility
- Coordinate patient flow and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
- Provide compassionate, respectful care to a diverse patient population
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification or state-recognized credential
- BLS/CPR certification required or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working in a correctional facility setting and able to pass required background checks
- Available to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered mindset
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certificate or diploma from an accredited program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with taking vitals and basic clinical assessments
- Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
- Medication administration and basic clinical procedures
- Infection control standards and universal precautions
- Good clinical judgment, organization, and teamwork
