Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients' functional abilities and needs to create meaningful treatment plans
- Deliver skilled occupational therapy interventions that help patients regain independence
- Document patient progress clearly and promptly to support quality care and continuity
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate holistic patient care
- Educate patients and families on strategies, adaptive equipment, and home programs
- Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment that promotes recovery and dignity
Qualifications
- Current COTA certification or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant credential
- Active license or eligibility to work as an OT assistant in Massachusetts
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working in a skilled rehab setting and supporting a diverse patient population
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with clinical teams
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related allied health field
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL and instrumental ADL evaluation and intervention
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment recommendations and patient training
- Proficient with clinical documentation and treatment planning
- Ability to provide safe manual handling and mobility support
- Effective patient and family education techniques and motivational coaching
