Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate direct patient care consistent with facility policies
• Assess patient condition, identify changes, and implement appropriate interventions
• Administer medications, document care, and ensure accurate charting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Maintain infection control standards and promote a safe clinical environment
• Support unit needs during admissions, discharges, and clinical emergencies

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license (must be valid for New Mexico or eligible through compact agreement)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications preferred where applicable
• Clinical experience in acute care settings is preferred, new grads may be considered depending on facility needs
• Ability to pass required background checks, drug screening, and facility credentialing

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Proficiency with medication administration and electronic health records
• Effective communication and teamwork with patients, families, and staff
• Time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Basic familiarity with common acute care procedures and protocols
