Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-focused care for geriatric patients, helping with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, grooming, feeding and mobility while preserving dignity and independence
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and timely to support continuity and safety
• Support social and emotional needs through friendly interactions and meaningful engagement
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

• GNA certification required or equivalent state-recognized credential
• Previous experience working with elderly or long-term care residents preferred
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening and required immunizations
• Reliable, compassionate attitude with good communication and teamwork skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or certified training

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs, transfers and safe resident handling
• Basic clinical observation and reporting skills
• Familiarity with documentation and charting in a healthcare setting
• Strong interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
• Ability to follow care plans and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
