Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with compassion and dignity
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff to support timely, safe care
- Perform routine vital signs and document findings accurately in the medical record
- Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices, ensuring comfort and nutrition
- Help maintain a clean, safe and organized environment for residents and visitors
- Build meaningful connections — provide emotional support and engage residents in social activities
Qualifications
- Current state Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
- T-CNA certification where applicable or willingness to obtain if required
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility
- Current CPR/BLS preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
- Reliable transportation to the facility and punctual, professional attendance
- Friendly bedside manner and the stamina for 10+ hour night shifts
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of infection control and safety practices
- Ability to chart accurately and follow care plans
- Excellent communication skills with residents and teammates
- Physical stamina for lifting, transferring, and mobility assistance
- Attention to detail and ability to follow direction from nursing staff
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to resident care
