Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising Physical Therapist in delivering personalized treatment plans to improve patient mobility and independence
• Implement therapeutic interventions such as therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional activities to achieve patient goals
• Monitor and document patient progress, response to treatment, and any changes in condition in the medical record
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques to support long-term outcomes
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure continuity across services
• Maintain professional standards, safety protocols, and infection control practices while providing compassionate care

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in New Jersey or eligible for licensure
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• Prior experience in outpatient or post-acute rehabilitation preferred
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Ability to pass facility background checks and meet credentialing requirements

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, and functional mobility interventions
• Comfortable with patient documentation and electronic medical records
• Strong clinical reasoning and ability to follow PT-directed plans of care
• Good time management and caseload prioritization to maximize patient outcomes
• Collaborative team player who communicates clearly with patients and colleagues
