Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults in a long-term/skilled care setting
- Perform accurate assessments, document changes, and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely according to orders and facility policy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and follow individualized care plans
- Support residents with activities of daily living, mobility, and personal care needs
- Maintain clear, timely charting in the electronic health record and communicate with families
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — LPNs may also be considered depending on assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or other certifications a plus
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
- Ability to pass facility background checks and meet onboarding requirements
Education
- RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- LPN: Diploma or certificate from an accredited practical nursing program
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment, wound care, and medication administration
- Comfortable with electronic charting and standard clinical documentation
- Strong communication skills for working with residents, families, and care teams
- Solid infection control practices and a focus on resident safety
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively during busy shifts
