Certified Nursing Assistant
Location: Farmington, ME
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Days (typical assignment): 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Day shift (30-minute meal break). Exact days per assignment; staffing often follows a weekday schedule but may include occasional weekends as needed.
Hours per Week: 43
Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with activities of daily living while preserving resident dignity and independence
- Support safe transfers and positioning to reduce fall risk and promote comfort
- Document care and observations clearly in the resident record to maintain continuity of care
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
- Maintain infection control standards and a clean, safe environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable performing physical aspects of resident care and working on your feet
- Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset
- Immunizations up to date as required by facility
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and safe patient handling
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and recognize changes in condition
- Basic documentation skills and familiarity with electronic or paper health records
- Infection prevention practices and proper personal protective equipment use
- Compassionate bedside manner and effective communication with residents and families
- Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
